HEART FOR THE HOMELESS RESPONDS TO QLD AND NSW FLOODS

Dear Friends,

The devastating news of recent and continuing major floods spreading across Queensland and Northern New South Wales is enough to shock people worldwide. Our prayers are with those who are affected by the severe floods, particularly where there has been loss of life or missing loved ones.

These traumatic situations have the ability to shake people emotionally, physically and financially. These situations have the power to play a significant role in how as a people, and as a country, we respond. As the eyes of the world look to the residents of Queensland and Northern New South Wales in sheer awe of the pain and damaged caused by this natural disaster, this is the time where we as a people and as a country have the opportunity to rise up, unite and aid our fellow Australians in their time of need. A true test of character can be found in our action and our reaction - You can make a difference!

Heart for the Homeless has been swift to offer its services and support networks to all those in desperate need. We have been quick to offer support to those charitable organisations on the ground such as The Salvation Army and associated organisations.

It is evident the aftermath of this event will be ongoing and long term process. Let us ensure that this crisis be a situation that causes action and unity with compassion and stability in our future.

Leighton Walters
CEO and Founding Director
